ABOUT FLO

Hi there, I’m Flo (she/her), also known as the Fairy Godsis. I’m a multi-faceted artist, energy healer, and mindfulness facilitator. 2nd generation Chinese-Vietnamese, daughter to refugees, born and raised in Oakland, CA on Ohlone land. I identify as a queer Asian femme who is highly sensitive and autistic with CPTSD, chronic pain, and invisible disabilities.  My background in public health and Master’s research in intergenerational trauma in refugee communities (2019) was a pathway for me to deepen my personal spiritual healing through mindfulness, yoga, herbalism and ancestral healing practices of Chinese medicine and Qi Gong. This ancestrally guided path led me to reconnect with my Buddhist roots, cultural traditions of Taoist Chinese mysticism and the esoteric arts to reclaim my power, pleasure and magic.

Soul Blume has been an emergent journey of healing my nervous system, awakening my inner artist, and remembering the mystic within.

From chasing the “American Dream” as a daughter to refugees conditioned to be quiet, obedient, and selfless, I chased myself to exhaustion, frequent mental and emotional breakdowns, and chronic pain in my body. This previous life of pursuing degrees, accolades and the internal pressure and guilt to caretake and please my immigrant Asian mother, left my mind, body and spirit depleted. During the pandemic, I started investing in extra care and support, working with other Asian women and femme therapists, psychics and coaches in mindfulness and storytelling. These guides ushered the next version of my evolution and the birth of my entrepreneurial journey, from Slow Blooming to Soul Blume.

In the initial stages of Soul Blume in 2020, I held virtual cannabis healing spaces (“420 Healing Rituals”), where I facilitated guided meditations to connect with our inner child, higher selves, and ancestors, while gathered with 30+ people of color, mostly of Asian descent, smoking bud, sipping on tea, bumping Erykah Badu on Zoom. These spiritual kickbacks were initiations from my spirit guides to step into my calling as a leader, teacher and guide — something that terribly frightened me because I spent my whole life hiding, playing small, highly anxious, and wanting to be invisible. This initiation had me go through spiritual surgery to calibrate my nervous system for higher visibility and courage.

Soul Blume has been a deeply intimate and transformative journey of self-discovery through nervous system healing and somatic rest rituals to free my creative spirit.

Rituals that were spiritually grounded and intuitive to help me clear emotional stagnation, depression and shame, and awaken my creative-erotic power. In this period of spiritual surgery, I was able to work with some of the most gifted and beautiful souls who became my chosen family. These guides helped me deepen my rest practices, liberate my voice, and strengthen my psychic connection with my ancestors, spirit guides and the unseen. We came together in 2023 to birth a collective legacy of Soft Power — a lay-led church for visionary artists and our calling is to create “soul-sensitive” spaces for artists to rest, recharge and resource their spirits.

My intention with Soul Blume is to support others in their journey of nervous system recovery, reclaim their life force energy, and awaken their creative-erotic power too. Because this gives birth to our dreams and visions, which are anointed and specific to each of our soul’s calling on earth. You can read more about the Soul Blume philosophy and praxis below.

When we release trapped emotions, trauma and energy in our bodies through care and safety, we open our channels for more love, pleasure, joy, creativity, and connection. The more we release, the more clear, grounded, alive and present we feel in ourselves. We open our channels for divine wisdom to flow through. The journey home to ourselves and spirits starts with our breath, body and voices.

Our souls seek to soften, remember and
expand into its power & creative potential.

Soul Blume offers private sessions, mentorship and group classes, where I curate and facilitate transformative rest and play rituals for self-discovery, remembrance and soul liberation. Learn more about my services in the link below.

From the mud, a lotus blooms.

Soul Blume Praxis

My Philosophy, Praxis & Practice in Soul Blume

This is my ideology and belief in practice, that continues to change and evolve. Ritual is a sacred practice with you, your breath and body, your cultural ancestral roots, your spirits and intuition, the elements and the earth. Through our sacred rituals, we come back to our true, soul selves.

  • There are many meanings of Wu in Chinese. Wù 悟 is a concept of awareness, consciousness and spiritual enlightenment in Chinese folk religion and Chinese Buddhism.

This first pedal of the Soul Blume lotus praxis represents our ability to go inward and observe our internal landscape— our thoughts, emotions, and the suffering within and outside of us. Mindful, non-judgmental awareness of suffering (and its causes) to cultivate liberation is a Buddhist practice.

When we start to interrogate the causes of systemic suffering in our lives and the world, we initiate the decolonization and healing of the mind, body and spirit from colonial supremacy and oppressive belief systems, which is not easy, but this is how we begin to free ourselves.

For you to be in reverence with your own body and the stories of you and your ancestors— what they’ve been through, what’s been inherited in your lineage (trauma and gifts), your soul’s divine calling on earth, and the understanding that we all have a role and responsibility in protecting life, the land, and honoring the dead and the unseen. I believe this is how we honor the Wù 悟.

The soul is a unique expression of divine spirit. Soul remembrance and retrieval starts with slowing down and coming back to your body's natural rhythms, flow and innate wisdom.

  • Animals have an innate ability to shake off trauma and pent-up energy in order to process stressful experiences like being attacked, and regulate their nervous systems and restore psychological balance. We have that ability to self-regulate and heal too.

What doesn’t get expressed, becomes suppressed, stuck and held in the body. Somatic healing refers to body-based healing. Through intentional breathing, vocalization and movement exercises, we can excavate deep buried emotions like rage, grief, shame, guilt and clear energetic-emotional stagnation.

When we clear stagnation, we increase our life force energy (Qi) and we feel more alive and present. As we clear old trauma in the body and open our meridian channels for blood and energy flow, we restore life and vitality in our spirits, and access our personal power, truths, ancestral and soul gifts.

Practices like Qi Gong, yoga postures (asana), breath work (pranayama) and herbalism are ancient healing practices that combine physical movement, sound vibration, intentional breathing and meditation to cultivate and harmonize one’s essence, vitality and spiritual energy (also known as the Three Treasures of Jing, Qi and Shen in Taoism).

  • Rest is sacred and is a portal to infinite possibilities‍.

My rest practice was first inspired by Tricia Hersey of the Nap Ministry, and alexx temena of the School of Embodied Praxi, where I enrolled in the Rest Residency program in 2021 and learned from alexx’s praxis on how to rest, recover my nervous system, and heal my connection with my intuition/spirit.

Rest and slowing down allows the body, nervous system and vital organs to rest, recover, heal, digest emotional experiences and recharge. A rest ritual is simply how we tend to our bodies through nourishment, herbalism, mindful movement, sleep, returning to nature and our own cyclical cycle.

When our bodies are rested, our connection with our intuition, inner wisdom and psychic abilities get stronger. Rest is the foundation for our spirits.

  • When we transmute trauma, stagnation and emotional blockages like shame and guilt, we connect with our inner truths and make space for clarity, joy, pleasure, creativity, love, care and abundance to flow into our lives.

Your inner child feels safe to shine, and you get to discover and explore more of your true self and expression. Your expression, child-like play and joy is medicine.

You are a co-creator with divine spirit, so follow what lights up your soul. Follow your spark, passions and joy. Your soul seeks to expand and express.

Through creative play rituals, you get to tap in with the parts of you that have been suppressed. Free your creative energy, birth your creations, and cultivate your spiritual ancestral gifts and wisdom. Listen and trust the inner guidance within.

  • Our rituals with self is a time and space to go inward, heal and expand. When the body feels safe, rested and regulated, the soul feels safe to express and bloom.

Come back to your home frequency, god divine buddha nature. Soften into your power.
Remember your magic. You are divine and expansive.

You play an active role in your soul's spiritual evolution and unfolding (Reverend Michael Bernard Beckwith of Agape International Spiritual Center).

Align your thoughts and energy with your heart and soul’s desires. Your visions are a blueprint from your spirit guides, god, universe.

Your soul is here to clear up and heal karma, activate its gifts, walk and live its dharma.
Soul Blume is the soul’s journey to expand into its creative power and potential.
